Illinois PAS
"Uniting Education & Industry In Agriculture"

2011/12 State PAS Officer Team

President- Jennifer Honnold

Jennifer graduated from Kansas High School in 2010 and is currently attending Lake Land Community College where she is majoring in Ag Transfer.  She plans to transfer to Western Illinois University to finish her degree in Agriculture Education.  She grew up on the family grain and hog farm, where she now runs the family's custom baling business.  Agriculture has opened up many opportunities for her throughout her life, whether it has been in FFA or PAS.  In PAS, she has been able to strengthen the bonds made with old friends and even create new bonds, both professionally and personally, that will stick with her the rest of her life.  Becoming an Agriculture Instructor is her way of spreading the word of agriculture and being able to give her students at least some of the opportunities that were presented to her and brought her to where she is today.

Vice-President-Nick Suess

Nick graduated from Greenville High School in 2009 and is currently a Junior at SIUC majoring in Agribusiness Economics.  He comes from a grain farm just south of Greenville, IL.  While at school, he works in the College of Agricultural Sciences Dean's Office. During the Summer and on any breaks he has from school, he goes home and works on the family's grain farm. Some of his favorite past times are golfing, fishing, and water skiing whenever he has a little bit of free time. Whenever he graduates, he plans to go back to the family's farm. He would also like to work toward getting his appraiser's licence and become a rural real estate appraiser as well as a farmer.

Vice-President-Michelle L Haller

Michelle is a 2003 graduate of Greenville High School and attends Kaskaskia College where she is majoring in Ag Production, Ag Business, and Horticulture and Colorado State University-Online where she is pursuing her Bachelors in Ag Business.  Michelle married in 2005 and has two children.  She is currently employed as Ag Literacy Coordinator for Ag in the Classroom for Bond County.  She believes that agriculture is a major part of everyones life and that it is also a way of life; and that the best way to reach out to others is through PAS and other activities to show them just how important agriculture is.  PAS has given her many opportunities to talk with others about agriculture and hopes that the year brings about many new members and opportunities for future and current members.  Some of her favorite past times are horse back riding, four-wheeling, playing with her kids, and pestering her husband.

Vice-President-Christy Miller

Christy Miller attends Lincoln Land Community College, and is majoring in Ag Education. She plans to attend Southern Illinois University to finish out her degree after Lincoln Land. She went to Williamsville High, and spent almost all of her time in the ag classroom!  She has always been passionate about agriculture, and was in 4-H and FFA, and is very happy to be a part of PAS. Christy is still involved in the FFA chapter at Williamsville, and visits the students as much as she can! She has always loved everything to do with agriculture, and does her best to promote the fact that our whole world revolves around it! She is very determined to become an Ag Teacher at the high school level, and to instill her love for FFA, PAS, and ag in all of her students! Christy is also determined to make her year of being an officer for IL PAS a wonderful year! Her plan is to spread the word about PAS and Agriculture to show others how important it is! She is very thankful to have been elected for this year and is looking foward for all the activities!
